My name is Gyda U. Løken Sirseth. I`m a rapper, basketball player and student. The genre I do is rap/hip hop

I was born in Bergen seventeen years ago, in a city where it always rains(Bergen). I always had a sense for music and when I learned how to write, I also started writing my own music. But it wasn’t until I entered high school that I started rapping for real. I had come to a realization of that my singing ability wasn’t as good as I though it were. At the time I was listening a lot to Eminem, 50 cent and Karpe Diem. I loved the way Eminem put his experiences into rhymes. How he made his own universe of thoughts and feelings be known to others through the vain of music. I wanted to try to do it myself, so I started at it and I never stopped.

I started using music to express my feelings, to put words to things I could hardly imagine expressing before I started rapping. After a while it became a way for me to dig out the negative energy and convert it into positive vibes. I felt as I could do anything when I rapped, it was and still is a safe place to go to, and a loving home number two for me.

Music is as I know it is too many people, very important to me. There a several reasons as to why I rap, some egocentric ones and other reasons that has more to do with changing the society and helping out. I know a lot of people are struggling and this is my way to help them see that its not just about what you go through but what you make of it, which attitude you keep during troubled times. “There is no peak without valleys, no pleasure without pain, and no sun without rain.” I want to inspire, to create and use rap as a tool to go beyond music and be a part of something bigger.
